Recharge Horse - Electrolyte RECHARGE is a ‘sports drink’ for horses that rapidly restores blood electrolyte and fluid levels following exercise, travelling and sweat loss. Specially formulated to counteract fatigue and dehydration after heavy sweat loss. RECHARGE replaces the essential salts and contains glucose to facilitate the uptake of fluids and salts into the bloodstream. RECHARGE stimulates thirst, encouraging water intake after administration. BENEFICIAL FOR: • Fluid and body salt replacement after exercise. • Rapid recovery after travelling. • Encourages drinking at competitions. WHY USE RECHARGE? • Handy portable pack to administer at shows/events or after racing. • Apple flavoured – can be mixed in water or squirted over the back of the tongue. • Contains glucose for energy and rapid absorption of electrolytes. • Combats dehydration/electrolyte loss immediately – no need to wait until the next feed to restore normal electrolyte levels. • Can minimise fluid and electrolyte losses if used prior to the event. DOSAGE DIRECTIONS Recharge may be diluted in drinking water or given ‘neat’ over the tongue. The dose rate for a 500kg adult horse varies between 40mL and 80mL. Mix depending on the need. See pack for directions for use. ANALYSIS: Each 60mL dose contains: Sodium 2.4g Potassium 1.8g Chloride 3.8g Phosphate 1.4g Magnesium 176mg Sulfate 696mg Glucose 15.6g Note: RECHARGE stimulates thirst therefore ensure clean, fresh water is made available after dosing. RECHARGE It is common for horses to lose large quantities of fluid and electrolytes during transportation, exercise and stressful conditions. Unless these losses are replaced rapidly, dehydration can occur, leading to metabolic disorders, depression, poor appetite and slow recovery.
